The main differences in detail
What are the differences in features?
Both Certifaction and Skribble are specialists for electronic signatures.
Skribble is specifically geared to the needs of self-employed persons and SMEs, for whom the software already contains most of the features out-of-the-box.
Certifaction, on the other hand, offers, in addition to the most important eSignature features, its own signature standard called Professional eSignature (PES), which enables the secure identification of signers with a high level of user-friendliness at a low price.
Moreover, Certifaction offers a bridge between the analog and digital worlds with its digital twin. It allows you to print out and archive electronically signed documents in a way that they still remain verifiable at any time.
One of the core arguments for Certifaction, however, is data protection, which sets new standards for the industry in many respects:
How does Certifaction take data protection one step further?
Certifaction’s data protection measures are based on zero document knowledge and local data processing. Digitally signed documents are transferred to our servers in encrypted form thanks to end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and can therefore not be read by unauthorized people.
In turn, most other providers have direct access to all documents because they are decrypted for processing. At this point, hackers or industrial spies, for example, can gain access to your confidential documents.
For which use cases are the two solutions particularly suitable?
Skribble’s eSigning solution is primarily optimized for the everyday work of smaller companies or solopreneurs who want to integrate eSignatures into existing workflows very quickly.
Certifaction, on the other hand, is particularly suitable if you do not want to compromise on data protection and want to protect your documents in the best possible way. In addition, Certifaction is ideal in cases where you want to archive paper contracts without sacrificing the benefits of electronic signatures.
With our PES, Certifaction has another clear advantage. It comes into play when you mainly sign contracts with end customers that do not have formal requirements:
How can the PES make the difference?
Certifaction’s Professional eSignature (PES) is an innovation and a real gamechanger for all companies for which contracts with end customers are a core part of their business model.
Such companies encounter a problem with most eSigning solutions: If you want to identify signers beyond doubt, you often have no choice but to use a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES), which however incurs significantly higher costs.
Other signature standards do not offer identification beyond doubt and are therefore vulnerable to fraud and deception attempts.
This is where PES bridges the gap: It allows the secure identification of all signers for a much lower cost than a QES. The PES is suitable in all cases where the legislator does not stipulate a formal requirement. This means you are securely protected against fraud while keeping costs low.
